Mrs E. G. Scrimshaw and Mrs R. Harris, Hamilton, went up to Auck- j land for Saturday night’s perform- ‘ ance of “The Quaker Girl” by the Light Opera Company. Mrs Dudley Wrathall, Auckland, was a visitor to Hamilton during the week-end. Mrs I. Pascoe, Wellington, is visiting Hamilton. Mrs H. B. M. Groves, with her jnfant daughter, has arrived in New Zealand from Cairo. She is the wife of Lieutenant-Colonel Groves, M.C., Royal Armoured Corps, officer commanding the Armoured Fighting Vehicles School, Waiouru. Miss Elaine Hulse, the 16-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Hulse, of Invercargill and late of Hamilton, has been successful in gaining her L.R.S.M. degree for piano, both in harmony and practical, at the recent examinations.
Miss Margaret Scrimshaw, who danced in “The Quaker Girl” in Auckland all last week, is spending a few days in Hamilton. She gave
solo dances in “The Home Guard” at Cambridge last night.
Members of the Fairfield Women’s Institute will take afternoon tea to, and entertain the inmates of, the Old Men’s Home on Wednesday.
