LYCEUM FUNCTION Club night for members of the mahjongg circle of the Cambridge Lyceum Club was held on Wednesday, when, despite other social attractions, there was a fair attendance of players. Massed bowls of bronze-red crysanthemums decorated the mantelpiece and several stands in the lounge. Miss Phyllis Nelson and Miss Rosemary Rishworth were the hostesses. Among the members present were:— Mesdames H. L. Nixon, S. Haines, E. Kenny, J. Boag, A. J. Swayne, E. Nickle, J. A. Wallace. Misses Shirley Tod, Josephine Mo-* Govern, Justine Lundon, Lynsie Lewis, Betty Middleton, Pat Nickle, Moana Maisey, Joan Sayers. NATIONAL PARTY DANCE Arranged by the Leamington committee of the National Party at Cambridge, a very successful and enjoyable dance was held in the Leamington Hall on Wednesday night. Making effective use of the profusion of crysanthemums at present in bloom the Misses Thelma and Laura Browne decorated the hall with blooms in every shade intermingled with greenery. The supper room tables, daintily decorated with crysanthemums, Iceland poppies and berries, were arranged by Mrs A. M. Fisher and Mrs R. Waite. Committee members present were: Mesdames R. Waite (wife of the president), wearing a gown of rust crepe; A. M. Fisher, wearing beech nut brown matalasse; K. S. Browne, plum taffeta; G. Walsh, black moire taffeta; Roy Fisher, tomato red taffeta; L. Waite, black velvet and red bolero; Miss Jean Fisher, green pebble crepe. Other committee members ; who assisted with the arrangements ! were: Mesdames Frank Vosper, D. M. | Bourke and N. Goodwin. Among those present were:—Mes- ! dames W. S. Goosman (Morrinsville), T. H. Anderson, R. J. Neely, T. McLennan, Awnsley, A. McVicar, J. D. Wallace, J. W. Ross.
