DAIRY FACTORIES AWARD (By TeiegTapn.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Wednesday An interpretation of the dairy factories award was sought in the Arbitration Court by the Labour Department, represented by Mr G. F. Grieve, of Wellington. Mr H. J. Bishop appeared for the defendant, the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company. The question the Court was asked to determine was whether payments for Saturday afternoon work under the factories Act are in addition to the time and a-half rate provided rn the award for overtime where the weekly limit of hours has been exceeded. The Court reserved its decision.
