WEDDING
BAG UST—EVANS CREME LACE FROCK St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church was the scene of a charming wedding on the afternoon of Saturday, April 19, when Lillian Belle, youngest daughter of Mrs O. Evans, of Coromandel, and the late Mr Evans, was married to Carlyle Norman, second son of Mrs Bagust, of Rotokauri, and the late Mr Bagust. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. G. Gilbert, and Mr E. H. Apthorp played the wedding music. The church was beautifully arranged with white chrysanthemums and dahlias. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr A. Evans, wore a lovely gown of creme Nottingham lace, fashioned on Victorian lines, with leg-of-mutton sleeves and a bustle back. An embroidered tulle veil fell from a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a sheaf of white roses, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss V. Bliss and Miss E. Woods, who were wearing frocks of cyclamen lace fashioned on similar lines to that of the bride. Their headdresses were of cyclamen tulle and flowers and they carried sheafs of cyclamen, dahlias, asters and maidenhair fern. Mr J. Dobbie was the best man, and Flight Lieutenant Owen Evans, N. was the groomsman. The ushers were Messrs R. Irving and O. Irving. The Reception Following the ceremony, a reception was neid at the Centreway Rooms, which were artistically decorated with white and cyclamen flowers. Mrs R. Irving, sister of the bride, received the guests in a tailored suit worn with a golden brown hat and brown accessories. Her posy was of autumn-tinted flowers. When Mr and Mrs C. N. Bagust left by car for their honeymoon the bride was in a cyclamen taiileur, a black hat and accessories, and a fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom. They will make their home in Hamilton.
