BMEZK AT MEETING WORKED DURING HOLIDAYS BOROUGH COUNCIL DISCUSSION (Special to lime*) TE AWAMUTU, Friday At the meeting or the Borough Council this week there was a long and pointed passage of words between Mr J. C. Moliteiiore ami the town clerk. Mr Dudley bockeil, about the engagement of a borough workman In work for the Cemetery Board uunng ins holidays. some time ago the council passed a resolution to the elTect that employees must take their holiday* and noi allow them to accumulate. When this aspect was made clear the question developed into a debate as to w nether the clerk of the Cemetery Board should take it upon himself to engage labour. Patriotic Committoo Day The women * committee of the Te Awamutu Patriotic Committee held a street day to-day for the purpose of raising mild* to finance the last 18 parcel* of the district's quota for despatch to the troops overseas.
