TECHNICAL BOYS’ SPORTS EFFORTS OF T. PARKHOUSE TOKOMARU CHAMPION HOUSE A very high standard of swimming obtained at the annual swimming sports of the Hamilton Technical College boys at the municipal baths this morning, fast limes being recorded in practically every event. The feature of the programme was the success of T. Parkhouse in the senior freestyle events. His outstanding time of 67 2-5 s in the 100yds must be little short of the record for a schoolboy for that distance. In the 50yds freestyle his time was also remarkably fast. Although he won the senior championship by only one point over F. Innes-Jones, the fact that he was not an entrant for the breast-stroke event made his performance very creditable. For competitive purposes the boys were divided into four houses, and in the detailed results the following abbreviations are employed: Tokomaru (To.), Aotea (Ao.), Arawa (Ar.), Tainui (Ta.).
