MONTHLY SITTING l LIQUOR AT DANCE (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Wednesday The monthly sitting- or the Cambridge Magistrate's Court was held today when .\lr W. H. Freeman, S.M., presided. Neison Denham Culpan, licensee of the .Masonic Hotel, was charged with selling liquor after hours on January 11, the day or the Cambridge trots. Charges were also preferred against Leonard Kerry and Norman Albert Fletcher, of Cambridge, lor being on licensed premises after hours and with purchasing liquor. Kerry was further charged with failing to stop his motor-car when requested to do so by the police. Kerry was convicted and lined £-2 on each charge, and Fletcher £3 on the two charges, while the licensee was convicted and lined £3 ana costs. Liquor at Dances Lawrence Michael Landers (Hawera), William Jewell and Vernati James Whiteman (Cambridge) were charged with having possession of liquor n»*ar a dance hall at Leamington on December 31. Powell were each fined £1 for failing to carry consignment notes* It was explained that the oversight was during the change over or the Individual Cambridge carriers to the Transport Company. For failing to display the unladen weight on a lorry T. J. Wood and Co. were fined 10s and a similar fine for failing to carry a vehicle authority. Airred Harblb Coory was fined 30s for speeding. Walter Ernest Stanley Perrott, Cambridge. taxidrlver, was fined £2 and costs for speeding. Convicted of a charge of theft of a magneto at Cambridge about July 31 last Charles Leonard Busst, a laundry proprietor. was fined £2 10s and costs £1 16s Sd, the magneto, valued at £i. to be returned to the owners.
