TERRITORIAL CAMPS
AFTER MARCH FAVOURED VIEW OF FARMERS (By Telrgrapti.—Press Association) WANGANUI. Wednesday The opinion that territorial camps could be held after March for men recruited from the rural areas was expressed at a meeting of the Wellington Central Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union in Marton. Members said that in the busy months men were taken away to camp and in the slack period they returned. In peacetime many regiments held their annual camps after March and they could see no reason why this could not be continued in the war. It was stated that the military authorities argued that in the winter it took four months to do a three months’ course but members considered that that was immaterial. It was decided to urge the Government to make the change.
