VALEDICTORY FUNCTION
FOR MR AND MRS DEW On Friday afternoon last, a largely attended garden party, promoted by the Roman Catholic community of Otorohanga, was tendered to Mr and Mrs A. L. Dew, who are leaving Otorohanga to settle at Henderson. The function was to be held in the grounds of the residence of Mrs H. M. Quin, but as weather conditions were unfavourable, an informal afternoon tea party was enjoyed indoors. Games and competitions contributed to the pleasure of the afternoon. The guests were the recipients of many good wishes for their future and were presented with a beautiful hanging mirror as a momento of their long residence in Otorohanga and their activity in church affairs. The Rev. Father McCormick, 5 in making the presentation, spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr and Mrs Dew and their family.
