FATE OF AIRMEN
REPORTED MISSING PILOT FROM TE AWAMUTU (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday The following Air Force casualties were reported tonight:— Pilot-Officer Anthony Vincent Muir, missing on air operations. His father is Mr J. Muir, Security Buildings, Te Awamutu. Pilot - Officer Arthur James Falconer, reported missing on air operations. His father is Mr W. M. Falconer, of Wanganui. Pilot-Officer Falconer was born at New Plymouth and educated at the Wanganui Technical College. He was a member of the civil reserve of pilots in 1939 and left New Zealand as a pilotofficer in 1940.
A brother of Mr J. B. Muir, of Te Awamutu, now attached to the New Zealand Dental Corps, Trentham, Pilot-Officer Muir was last heard of in letters to his brother from England with the Royal Air Force. He was born at Wanganui about 27 years ago, and was educated at Sacred Heart College, Auckland, and Victoria University College, Wellington.
