HEADMASTER HONOURED
Mr f. w. hare, of 'Whitiora A farewell presentation was made by the headmasters of Hamilton and district to Mr F. W. Hare who retired after twenty-one years as headmaster of the Whitiora School. Several members spoke in eulogistic terms of the high efficiency of Mr Hare as a teacher, and of the fine cultural influence he had on the children. Mr Hare, in an interesting and informative speech, offered constructive criticism on matters pertaining to primary education, stressing the necessity for a definite standard of work, the value of school competi - tions and games, the missionary aspect of the work of education, and urging caution on the question of introducing innovations into the school.
