The jockey, J. O’Brien, received a compound fracture of the left leg when he was tin-own from Aloe Hill prior to the start of the Juvenile Handicap at Moonee Valley. High Caste took no har-m Troon hi-s brilliant Futurity eirort. He is certain to start in the Newmarket Handicap. Tranquil Star was galloped on In tihe Futurity Stakes and had a hind leg stripped, but the Ally is to oppose Lucrative in the St. Leger Stakes. Telergy was impressive In completing a mile and a-liair in 2.4-3. Reading, looking Improved alter hi* race on Saturday, ran six furlongs in 1.16 j. Damocles and Lord Walla ilnished together in 1.17. Nightbeam completed live Turlongs In 1.4 and moved well. Dashing Cav-alier finished an easy mile in 1.57. At Caullleld, on the course proper, tihe hurdles were 30Pt. out and the track was dead. Mildura ran seven .furlongs in 1.291, the llret four in 4 9s, and he moved well. High caste, who ran live furlongs in 1.3, never looked better. Whisper Low took 1.31. Phoines recorded 1.2£, the ilrst ball-mile occupying 4 84s. Wilson and Pandect finished together over a mile in 1.4 6. Apostrophe took 2.19 Tor an easy mile and a-quarter. Tklai Wave moved freely to record 2.2 5 easily. Gold SaJii'te, who looks well, recorded 37 4s for three l'urlong*.
