To enable farmers to compare the quality of the carcases a Field Day will be held at the Horotiu Freezing Works on Saturday, November 2nd at 11 a.m. NOTE.—In the judging on hooks at Horotiu Freezing Works the pigs in Classes 254-255-256-257 will be judged in weight ranges as follows: 60-801bs., 81-1001bs, 121-1401bs, 141-1801bs. The Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Co. present a Silver Cup, and also miniature value £3/3/-, for winner of this Class on Hooks at Horotiu. This Cup to be won three times, not necessarily in succession. SHEEP DOG TRIALS (Under the Rules and Regulations of the North Island Sheep Dog Trial Association.) Commencing at 9.30 a.m., FRIDAY, November Ist. DRIVING AND YARDING. Prizes—lst £5, 2nd £4, 3rd £3, 4th £2, sth £l. ENTRY FEE 7/6. The Trials will be run on the Boundary Road Paddock on the CLAUDELANDS SHOWGROUNDS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd. The five prizewinners will compete for a Silver Challenge Cup presented by Mr. F. D. Jones (Dolly Varden) to be won 3 times.
