LEFT JOB AT WAIOURU : I NEGATIVE DECISION GIVEN ! (By Telegraph.—press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday The judgment of the industrial i magistrate, Mr J. A. Gilmour, on an j application concerning workers employed at the Waiouru military camp heard on August 15 deals with the interpretation of the position that arises when a worker engaged on country work voluntarily leaves such 1 work before its completion. In answer to the question whether j such worker is entitled to be paid ; his return fare and to be paid for j the time occupied in travelling from ; the job to his genuine place of resi- : dence in New Zealand, the judgment | says the answer is “No.” The ap- | plication was by the Inspector of j Awards, Wellington, and the interI pretation sought was in the New Zealand carpenters , and joiners’ award, 1939.
