POLICE HEADQUARTERS
NEW ROTORUA BUILDING COMMISSIONER OFFICIATES (By TelegrapH.—Press Association) ROTORUA, Monday The new police station building recently completed in Rotorua was officially opened this afternoon by the Commissioner of Police, Mr D. J. Cummings, in the presence of a large gathering. The deputy-mayor, Mr L. Ewert, presided. Reference was made to the fact that both the commissioner and Inspector D. B. Edwards (Hamilton), who was present, had been stationed in Rotorua during the service in the police force. Congratulations were extended to Inspector E. J. Carroll, officer in charge of the Rotorua area, upon his recent promotion. The official guests were entertained at afternoon tea, and the building was inspected. Substantially constructed in reinforced concrete, the building is of two storeys, and provides accommodation, not only for present needs, but for future expansion.
