EGGS ARE CHEAP
Eggs are the most valuable food bargain offered us in August. They are cheaper than .they will be for many months to come, so now is the time to use them liberally in the kitchen and to buy and store them as a reserve for the winter. Egg and Potato Pies Required: 4 large even-sized potatoes, 4 eggs, 2 oz. cheese, 2 oz. butter, 2 teaspoons grated onion, seasoning, milk. Method: Bake the potatoes and when tender cut the top off and scoop out most of the potato from the inside and from the lid. Mash the potato, add the butter, grated onion, seasoning, cheese and a little milk. Replace some of the mixture in the potato cases, carefully the potato cases, carefully break pipe the remaining potato mixture on the top. Bake in a quick oven until the eggs are lightly set, and the potatoes browned on top.
