REPORTED MISSING
WELL-KNOWN OARSMAN PILOT-OFFICER P. BRODIE (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WANGANUI. Friday Advice that their son, Pilot-Officer Peter Brodie, is missing in air operations has been received by Air and Mrs A. D. Brodie. of Wanganui. Pilot-Officer Brodie is an old boy of the Wanganui Collegiate School. While there he won his colours for rowing, and on leaving school he joined the Wanganui Rowing Club, where he soon made his mark as an oarsman. He became club captain and represented the club at many regattas. Pi.’l>t-Officer Brodie left New Zealand with a draft for the Royal Air Force in 1938. In April of this year he married Miss Pamela Harnett, daughter of Mrs P. Harnett, Cricklewood, London.
KILLED IN ACCIDENT AIR FORCE SERGEANT (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Friday Cabled advice of the death of their son. Sergeant Jack Steven (“Digger”) Brennan, of the Royal Air Force, in a landing accident on Wednesday, has been received by Air and Mrs J. M. Brennan, of Mount Albert. Shortly after the outbreak of war Sergeant Brennan volunteered for service with the Royal Air Force, and after completing preliminary training at Palmerston North, he left for England on March 23.
