PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL OPPOSITION TO WAGES INCREASE (Special to Times) TE AROMA, Thursday. Members of the council expressed the opinion that it would have the effect of making it even harder lor farmers to obtain labour at a time when they were doing all in their power to increase production. They feared the increase in wages would increase the costs of production. A letter was received from the industrial union of employers advising tne council iii.it the union was appealing against the payment of the 5 per cent increase and asking the council to defer payment until the appeal was heard. PETROL CONSERVATION ZONING OF MILK ROUNDS Te Aroha milk vendors have agreed to the zoning of milk deliveries in Te Aroha

in an effort to conserve petrol. Zoning will take effect from .September i, and each vendor will be allotted a zone in which deliveries are comparable In gallonage to the round he ls now working. The area will be adjacent to his depot, -o that mileage will be reduced to a minimum.
