WAIRARAPA RAILWAY CLEARANCE EXPECTED TODAY (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday A freight train travelling on the Wairarapa line between the Summit and Cross Creek about 2.30 p.m. today encountered a slip across the line about a quarter of a mile south of the Summit. About 500 cubic yards of rock had fallen across the line, and for a chain rocks were piled up 10ft high across the permanent way. A breakdown train was speedily sent to the scene, and it is hoped to have the line cleared late tomorrow morning. Meanwhile the Welling-ton-Wairarapa rail service is dislocated.
