INFANT UNDER LORRY
FATHER’S TRAGIC DISCOVERY (by Telegraph.—Press Association) BLENHEIM, Monday A child of 18 months, Melvin Albert Prentice, was killed near his home this afternoon when knocked down by a motor-lorry driven by his father, Mr M. Prentice, of Springlands. Mr Prentice had just unloaded some logs at his timber mill and backed away from the ramp when he saw the child lying on the ground. Apparently he had toddled unnoticed from the house near by and crawled under the vehicle.
