INTOXICATED DRIVER
SALESMAN SENT TO GAOL (By Telegraph.—Tress Association) AUCKLAND, Tuesday f£eith Desmond Whitburn, aged 35. salesman, appeared in the Police Court charged with being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor-car on the Manukau Road. The police said the car collided with a boy riding a bicycle. The boy was seriously injured and sent to hospital, though" he had recovered. The car was driven rather erratically at a fairly fast speed. Accused was sentenced to seven days’ hard labour and his license was cancelled.
