OBITUARY
MAHARAJAH OF MYSORE RULER OF MODEL STATE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Aug. 3 The death has occurred of His Highness the Maharajah of Mysore. The ruler of a model Indian State, second in importance only to Hyderabad among the Indian States, His Highness the Maharajah Sri Krishnaraja Wadiyar Bahadur, of Mysore, was bom in 1384, ascended the throne as a minor in 1895 and was invested with full ruling powers by the then Viceroy, Lord Curzon, in 1902. His State covered an area of about 29,500 square miles and he was the ruler of some 6,500,000 Industrious people. Throughout his long reign, the Maharajah actively interested himself in health, education and social welfare of his people.
