MOTORISTS FINED
REGULATIONS BROKEN FAULTY BRAKES A MENACE Offences against the motor traffic regulations cost a number of motorists fines ranging from 10s to £2 in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, this morning, when the names of thirty appeared on the charge sheets. “The man who drives with faulty brakes is a menace on the road,” commented Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., in fining H. A. Bowen £2 with costs after his admission of driving with brakes that were out of order. The explanation that he had'tfsed his vehicle only on his farm after the warrant of fitness had expired, and had been accosted by the traffic inspecor on the very day he was driving into town to have the warrant renewed, was made on account of J. R. Horn, who was charged with not having a warrant of fitness for his vehicle. He was convicted and ordered to pay 12s Court costs. Loading of Vehicle The loading of a trade vehicle in such a way that there was an excessive length of the load at the rear and in the front, and that the doorways of the vehicle were blocked, resulted in three charges being preferred against J. J. Niven and Company, Limited. On the charge of having the doorways blocked defendants were fined 10s with costs, and they were convicted and ordered to pay 10s costs on each of the two charges of having excessive length of load at the rear and front. For conducting an ancillary goods service, Ray Neon, N.Z., Ltd., was fined £1 with costs. The following were fined 10s with costs for the non-possession of a driver’s license:—W. E. Atkinson, J. W. Alker, G. Armstrong, F. M. Baker, A. Beeton, A. St. C. Belcher, A. M. Bell, E. R. Bryant, H. D. Crosby, W. A. Godfrey, J. C. Grove, G. Marquand, L. H. Monteith, J. H. Osborne, R. L. Petrie, V. T.
