MAD=HATTERS DANCE
FOR RED CROSS FUNDS The characteristic brightness of the social functions held by members of the White Queen committee was again a feature last week when a large number of supporters attended a mad-hatters dance. Organised to support Miss Jean Carruth, the White Queen in the Tirau-Okoroire Queen Carnival, the function was an unqualified success, over £45 being made. Prizes for the mcfcst original “madhats” went to Miss Madge Carruth and Mr Geoffrey Beale (Putaruru). A novelty waltz was Avon by Miss Joan Allen and Mr Barnett (Tirau). Mr N. L. Higginson was master of ceremonies. Among those present were:—Mesdames J. McLaren, Tuscan grape cotelle; J. Landman, crepe de soie; T. H. Beeson, pale blue taffeta and organdi; A.
