PROSPECTIVE EVACUEES

MANY DOMINION RELATIVES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday “It is remarkable the number of New Zealanders with relatives in England,” remarked the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, replying to a deputation today. “The opportunity given residents of the Dominion to nominate children from five to 16 years of their relatives in England for evacuation to New Zealand has brought to light information that apparently every other family in the Dominion has connections in the Old Country. “Within three days of the definite announcement that our people could * nominate children of relatives,” the Minister added, “I received 1000 nominations, and more have been pouring in by every mail. The sentiment of the family tie is deep-rooted and it is good to realise and appreciate it.”
