COAL MINERS FIRM tf STAND DECLARED JUSTIFIED ONUS ON DEPARTMENT (By Telegraph.—Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Friday The president of the State Miners’ Union, Mr G. English, this morning stated that the union was a hundred per cent solid. “There is no chance of work being renewed on Monday,” he said, “unless the department opens negotiations and makes the way open to resume. “The union is not stubborn. The stand is justified.” Mr English recalled, concerning saljptage, that the union had dismissed a man some years ago for a suggestion of sabotage.
