i METHODIST LADIES* GUILD The annual meeting of the Taupiri Methodist Ladies’ Guild was held recently in the Taupiri Mission Hall, ! ! when there was a fair attendance of ! members and friends. The meeting I was presided over by the Rev. L. Hay man. The secretary, Mrs G. Wilson, read the annual report and balance sheet, both disclosing a successful year’s work. Mrs T. Reekie read the president’s report, which showed how active the guild had been during the year both in work and in welcoming new members. In recognition of their splendid work throughout the year, Mrs S. A. Clarke, Kainui, on behalf of the
members, presented Mrs T. Reekie with a beautiful autumn - tinted bouquet, Mrs G. Wilson with a shoulder spray and the Rev. L. Hay- . man with a button-hole. The Rev. Hayman suitably replied. The election of officers for the . I coming year was as follows.—Presi- : ' dent, Mrs S. A. Clarke; secretary, , Mrs G. Wilson; treasurer, Miss E. £ Button; vice-presidents, Mesdames , I D. Lewis and S. G. Silvester; visitors | for sick, Mesdames Silvester and " Bodle. . I The meeting then closed with the benediction, after which a delightful ’ | afternoon tea was served.
