RECRUITS WANTED
RALLY IN HAMILTON VISIT OF HON. P. FRASER MILITARY PARADE PLANNED The campaign conducted by the Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, and the Chief of the General Staff, Major-General J. E. Duigun, to secure recruits lor the additional echelons of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, will open in Hamilton on Saturday. March 16. when Mr Fraser and Major-General Duigan will address a recruiting meeting. The Ministerial party will arrive in Hamilton on Saturday afternoon, by military aeroplane from Whangerei, and the public meeting will be held in the Bledisloe Hall at 8. p.m. Besides Mr Fraser and Major-Gen-eral Duigan, Mr C. A. Barrell, M.P. for Hamilton and Mr A. L. Tompkins, chairman of the Hamilton Patriotic Donations Committee, have been invited to speak. Aeroplanes Over Hamilton Bands, territorials, cadets, the National Military Reserve, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides will participate in a great military parade, from Knox Street to Bledisloe Hall, by way of Victoria Street, just prior to the mass public meeting. Altnough arrangements have not yet been completed it is intended to secure two bombers from the Hobsonville air base for a “Bombphlet” raid over Hamilton to ensure that a large number of people will attend the meeting. A van, with loud speakers, will also be used in the streets to draw attention to the meeting.
