ADMIRAL BYRD’S DISCOVERIES PENINSULA AND ISLANDS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received March 2, 10.55 a.m.) WASHINGTON, March 1 Rear-Admiral Byrd reports the discovery of a large peninsula and two islands on Antarctica’s South Pacific coast. He added: “From an altitude of 6000 feet we saw a mountain-dotted peninsula projecting seaward 190 miles.”
