MEETING CONCLUDES ROYAL APPELLANT WINS LOOMBINATION IN HURDLES In contrast to the failure of tha favourites on the first day on Saturday, the opening event of the second and concluding day of the Waikato Racing Club’s summer meeting at Te Rapa, to-day, was fought out to a thrilling conclusion by the two bestsupported starters. Wildore, second favourite both ways in tne Ohinewai Hack Handicap, just beat the favourite Silver Stick. The weather was brilliantly fine and the track was in good order. The attendance was good. Loombination, after showing encouraging form on the first day, scored in the hurdles with the favourite, Charcot, running third. Yogi, the favourite in the Te Rore Handicap. could do no better than third ivu‘'uSv.;e. The big race of the day, the Vereoe Handicap, was the third event in succession that the win favourite was relegated to third position, Lady Montana being headed home by Royal Appellant, the winner, and Racecamp.
