MINERS STOP
NO WORK TODAY TROUBLE AT ROTOWARO CAUSE NOT ANNOUNCED (Special tn Tlrpp-s.) HUNTLY, Monday Although no ‘reasons have been announced officially by the representatives of the men, more than 200 miners of the Rotowaro mine, Huntly, held a stop work meeting this morning and did not go to work today. The only indication of the cause of the stoppage is that the miners wished to consider “various matters.”
When the men arrived at the mine this morning a meeting was called. As it was still in progress at the scheduled time for the commencement of work, the miners did not go into the mine but returned to their homes. As a result at least one day’s work will be lost.
It is understood that the stoppage is not likely to extend to any of the other mines in-the Huntly fields.
