SEWING FOR SOLDIERS
HAMILTON ACTIVITIES RESUME HUNDREDS OF “HUSSIFS” The Women’s Patriotic Sewing and Knitting Circle has resumed its activities in the Masonic Hall, Claudelands, meeting at 2 p.m. each Thursday. * The chairman of the circle is Miss D. Menzies, and the superintendent Mrs H. D. Cobb. Already a large number of articles for soldiers, such as balaclava helmets, sox, gloves, scarves and hospital supplies has been made by the members of the circle, who, in conjunction with members of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, have made and are still making hundreds of “hussifs” (carryalls), in which soldiers keep their sewing, darning and similar materials). Any women interested in th§ activities of the circle are invited to communicate with the superintendent.
