ADDINGTON MARKETS GOOD DEMAND FOR PR3S Larger vardlngs of fat lambs and sheep came forward at Addington, the dry weather having made feed rather short. The dry weather was the cause of a considerable Increase in the yarding of fat sheep, the total rising from 5500 last week to about 7000. Quality was mixed. The big entry caused an easing in the demand and for most grades, except best ewes and wethers, prices suffered. Prime heavy wethers made 25s 6d to 31s, ordinary 21s to 2 ss, light to 20s 6d, prime heavy ewes 23s to 255, ordinary 13s to 17s 6d, light to 12s 6d. The entry of rat cattle was 440, against 375 last week. There were few outstandingly good lines. Prices for better sorts or steers, heifers and cows showed little change. Prime heavy steers £lO 10s to £ IS, ordinary £io 10s to £l4, light to £lO, prime heifers £lO 10s to £ll 15s. light to £S 15s, prime cows £8 10s to £lO 1 Os. light to £O. The entry or porkers at the start of the sale was very small and competition was keen, with values about 2s a head above last week.
