WELL-BALANCED FIELDS
BIG RACE ATTRACTS TWELVE LARGE ENTRY IN SPRINT PROSPECTS UNDER REVIEW (By “Martian”) Characteristic of meetings on the roomy Te Rapa course, the fields carded for the opening day of the Summer meeting of the Waikato Racing Club tomorrow are of a well-balanced nature and conducive to racing of a high standard, the big race, the Storey Memorial Handicap, attracting twelve acceptors and the sprint, the President’s Handicap, no less then seventeen. At time of writing indications are for a holding track but providing the weather remains reasonably fine in the interim the course should be in comparatively good order. Following are the fields with a review of the prospects :
