BOXING TOURNEY

BENEFIT FOR RED CROSS FIXTURE IN HAMILTON The of the Hamilton Boxing Association decided last night to conduct an amateur boxing tournament on March 16 in aid of the funds of the Red Cross Society. The meeting was presided over by the chairman of the association, Mr W. H. Keenan. Proposals for the tournament were outlined to the meeting by Mr B. W. Enniss, who will work in conjunction with the association’s committee on the tournament. The fixture will be held in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium and the bouts will be arranged by Mr Johnnie Summers. It is expected that a number of boxers from Auckland will take part, in addition to those from the Waikato. It was also decided that the annual meeting of the association would be held on March 28.
