CROQUET FINALS

SOUTH AUCKLAND PLAY DOUBLES AND SINGLES TITLES Considerable interest was shown at the Whitiora Croquet Clubs greens this afternoon when the final stages of the South Auckland championship tournament were reached with play in the final of the A grade championship singles and the championship doubles for A and B grade players. Although the weather was overcast conditions were satisfactory for play. In post-section play of the A and B grade doubles Mesdames Henrys and Stimson, winners of Section 1, defeated Mrs Hilton and Miss Joyce, winners of Section 2, by 26 points to 24. This afternoon the final was commenced between Mesdames Henrys and Stimson and Mesdames Thomsen and Forsythe, winners of Section 3. In the final of the championship A grade singles three games are to be played. The finalists who competed to-day were Mrs Hilton (Auckland) and Mrs Kibblewhite (Whitiora).
