The Swedish purchasing mission to the United States is said to have arranged for a further 144 American aeroplanes with a speed of more than 400 miles an hour.
The new Chief of the Australian Air Staff, Air Marshal Sir Charles Barnett, has arrived in Sydney from England by flying-boat. He will have immediate consultatons with the War Cabinet.
