NEGLIGENT DRIVING
HIT PARKED VEHICLE MOTORIST CONVICTED Negligent driving in River Road on December 31 led to Howard John Davies, a hairdresser, of Takapuna (Mr K. L. Sandford) being convicted and fined £2 and costs by Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, today. He pleaded guilty. Senior-Sergeant G. H. Lambert, In prosecuting, said Davies was driving along River Road at 1 a.m. on his wrong side. He collided with a parked car on his incorrect side although the car was partially on the grass and under a street light. Three persons in the defendant’s car were injured. Other' Motorists Fined A fine of £1 and costs was imposed on Elsie Eva Johnson, of Ngaruawahia (Mr P. G. Harkness) for negligent driving in Victoria Street. Hamilton, on December 12. SeniorSergeant Lambert said defendant almost collided with a truck, and it was only the skilful driving of the truck driver that avoided an impact. A taxi driver, Allen Alfred I Kingston, pleaded guilty of failing to I give way to the right at the corner I of Collingwood and Anglesea Streets I on January 22. He was convicted and fined £1 and costs. The case | arose from a collision.
