DISPUTE IN AUSTRALIA | 40-HOUR WEEK WANTED (United Press Assn. — Tel. Copyright) SYDNEY, Feb. 14 The coalmining unions have launched a campaign aimed at securing a 40-hour week of five days for employees in all sections of the coal industry. A one-day stoppage each week was inaugurated to-day and threw idle ail the mines in the north, also four in the west of New South Wales. No particular days will be selected for future stoppages, this being left to the discretion of the colliery lodges. Fish Anomaly Fish cannot be bought in Coro—- ! mandel although they are being I caught there, it was stated at a | meeting of the Thames Hospital Board. Deeble, said ; he understood men fishing there had to send the whole of their catches ! to Auckland. “It does seem absurd ! if in a place like Coromandel fish cannot be bought,” said the chairman, Mr P.
