TENNIS EXHIBITION
AUSTRALIANS BRILLIANT (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday j The visiting Australian tennis players attracted a record crowd of 2200 to Wilding Park today, when they played exhibition matches with leading South Island players. Bromwich was in even better form than in the New Zealand championships, and beat Crawford m a brilliant match. Misses Wynne and Coyne played superbly in a women’s doubles match. Results were as follows:—Bromwich beat Crawford, 6—l, 6—4; Brown (Canterbury) beat Barnes, 6 —4, 6—5; Miss Hardcastle beat Miss Miller (North Otago), 6—l, 6—4; Brown (Canterbury) and Bromwich beat Angas (Canterbury) and Craw- ! ford, 6—l, 6—2; Misses Wynne and j Coyne beat Mrs Hatherly and Miss j Poole (Canterbury), 6—l, 6—3.
