SWIMMING TROPHY CHAMPIONSHIPS CONCLUDED 100YDS. BREASTSTROKE RECORD (By Telegraph.—Press. Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday The New Zealand senior swimming championships were concluded tonight at the Riddiford Baths, Lower Hutt. Rain early in the evening prevented a large crowd attending. The weather was cool and the water temperature 66 degrees. Final points for the Yaldhurst Shield are:—Otago 43, Auckland 37, Canterbury 26, Bay of Plenty 23, Southland 21, Wellington 15, Nelson 8. Results:— 440Yds. Men’s Freestyle.—P. L. Newell (Canterbury), 1; P. Mathieson (Auckland), 2; A. Pascoe (Auckland), 3. Won by a touch. Time, 5m 19 3-ss. IOOYds. Women’s Freestyle.—Miss C.
