FINE RECORD

EXAMINATION RESULTS

HAMILTON TECHNICAL COLLEGE "Our examination results at the end of last year were very satisfactory,” said Mr W. Fraser, principal of the Hamilton Technical College, in a report submitted to the Board of Managers last night. ‘‘ln the case of the main examinations the aggregate number of passes was the largest we have had.” The report added that in the Government Shorthand-Typiste Examination, the school presented 27 candidates of whom passed. “I have not yet seen a list from any day school in the Dominion,” commented Mr Fraser, ‘‘with such a large number of passes in this examination.” In the University Entrance examination, 19 out of 26 candidates passed and two boys passed, in addition, the Engineering Preliminary. Of the 31 candidates presented for the School Certificate Examination 27 secured full or partial passes, while 31 out of 32 candidates were successful in the Public Service Entrance Examination. "Thanks to the efforts of Mr C. J. Champness, a member of the board, our engineering workshop has been refloored and a number of other improvements have been made,” concluded the report. The board members expressed gratification at the examination results. Mr C. Nisbet, the chairman, said it was very satisfactory that such large percentages of passes had been secured. He thought it reflected great credit on the staff. Mr Champness was thanked for his work.
