POLICE WATCH
STRAINED RELATIONS FRANCE AND SOVIET INTEREST IN COMMUNISTS (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Feb. 14, 3.15 p.m.) PARIS, Feb. 13 The Soviet Embassy has been placed under special police watch, despite the usual diplomatic immunity.
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, said the action was due to the Embassy’s relations with the outlawed French Communist Party.
The Russians have imposed a similar watch at the French Embassy in Moscow, and are questioning, searching and even photographing visitors.
