INTOXICATION CHARGE
FINE OF £25 IMPOSED (Special to Times) MORRINSVILLE. Tuesday Before Messrs C. M. Gummer and L. Echlin, J.’sP., in the Morrinsville Police Court, a Maori, Henry Tuhakaraina, was charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a car. Constable McMullan stated that when first seen, accused was not in the car, but shortly after Tuhakaraina got into the car and drove away. Constable Andley gave chase in a taxi and brought accused to the police station, where he was examined by Dr Morrow and certified as not in a fit state to drive a car.
The Bench took a serious view of the case and fined Tuhakaraina £25, with costs £1 6s.
