DOMINION CONTESTS MEN’S BACKSTROKE RECORD PERFORMANCE BY C. CLIFF v ßy Telegraph.—rress Association) WELLINGTON, Monday The New Zealand senior national swimming championships were continued this morning and tonight. Two heats in the men’s 220yds. freestyle and a round of water polo championships were held in the morning. Tonight a large crowd attended to see the decision of the 220yds. men’s free-style, 100yds. women’s backstroke, 100yds. men’s backstroke, 880yds. men’s free-style, and 440yds. women’s free-style championships. Although slightly cold in the morning, the temperature of the water considerably improved from 63 to 67 degrees by evening. The day was sunny and warm. Results:— 220Yds. Men’s Free-style.—Final: P. Hanan (Auckland, holder), 1; A. Pascoe (Auckland), 2; H. Goldsmith (Canterbury), 3. Time, 2m 24 l-ss. IOOYds. Women’s Breaststroke. — Miss W. Dunn (Otago), 1; Miss N. Dixon (Nelson), 2; Miss J.
