DELAYED MAILS
NO NEED FOR CONCERN The post office has received a number of enquiries as to the safety of letters sent to England. It is believed that the majority of these enquiries have arisen out of the increased time taken by sea mails in reaching Great Britain. The delays that have occurred have been due entirely to circumstances created by the war. It is expected, however, that such delays will not be so great in future. If any person in New Zealand, therefore, receives information that mail matter has not reached its English destination by an expected date, he should not entertain any undue concern as to the safety of the mail. Up to the present, no indication has been received in New Zealand that any mails in transit from or for the Dominion have been lost as a result of the war. Generally it will be found the letters thought possibly to be missing will be delivered in due course.
