CLEVER FORGERIES
AMERICAN BANKNOTES GERMAN RUSE SUSPECTED (United Tress Assn. —Eiet. Tel. Copyright) TORONTO, Feb. 10 The police have seized counterfeit United States and Canadian notes representing 278,000 dollars, and arrested a man and a woman. They are investigating what is believed to be an international ring specialising in spurious Canadian and United States bank notes. Experts describe the bills as the cleverest forgeries they have seen. It is likely that Germany is inspiring the ring to bolster foreign funds. Those arrested were planning to dispose of the notes in Bulgaria.
