SUGAR FOR THE NAVY DURBAN FIRM’S DONATION (omcial Wireless) (Received Feb. 10, 1.15 p.m.) RUGBY, Feb. 9 A Durban firm has made a gift to the Royal Navy of 950 tons of refined sugar, valued at about £20,000. Copyright) WASHINGTON, Feb. 8 Mr Morgenthau, Secretax*y to the Treasurer, told the United Press ui America that the Russian gold shipment on the steamer Kim was an “ordinary everyday transaction” and added: “I understand the gold is for the treasury.”
The steamer Durham Castle landed at Genoa 162 Germans from internment camps in Kenya and Tanganyika who are returning to Germany.
