An Order-in-Council has been issued requiring that imports from European neutrals shall be accompanied by a certificate stating that not more than 25 per cent of the cost arises from the use of enemy materials or labour and that the enemy is not interested in the ownership of the articles.
Members of the Australian Imperial Force when on active service are to be equipped with six pairs of eyeshields. two capes, and gasmasks of the latest design. In addition they will carry two tins of a special ointment which is an effective antidote to mustard gas burn if applied within a quarter of an hour.
The British Ministry of Supply, in order to conserve shipping and currency, has announced a two-fifths reduction in paper supplies as from February 12. Rationing, although initially to operate for only three months, will continue after June 1.
