SOVIET THREAT
WAR IN FINLAND ANNIHILATION OF FINNS RUSSIANS REPULSED (United Pres 3 Assn.—Elec. Te!. Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 9 The Finns have repulsed two attacks on Summa and maintained their positions elsewhere, says a report from Helsinki. They smashed a Soviet battalion near Raate, killing 250 of the Russian troops. Admiral Tributz, commander of the Russian Baltic Fleet, said the offensive would continue until the Finnish forces had been annihilated. Finnish patrols combed the territory for parachutists between Rovaniemi and the Gulf of Bothnia. Another patrol penetrated Russia to the shores of the White Sea. An offer has been made from Denmark of 10,000 volunteers to serve in civilian occupations to take the place of Finns called to the colours.
